Founded in 1994, and located in Irvine, California, DEG maintains an incredibly talented and experienced engineering staff, including Ph.D. educated engineers.

Position Overview: As an Electronics Design Engineer specializing in ADCs and DACs, you will be a pivotal member of our hardware development team, responsible for designing, simulating, and implementing advanced analog and mixed-signal circuits. You will contribute your expertise to the entire product lifecycle, from concept development and prototyping to validation and production support. You should have a desire to work for a smaller company that has a close-knit, healthy atmosphere, where all team members have a voice and the opportunity to innovate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed circuit schematics for ADC and DAC circuits for RF performance, area constraints, and manufacturability.
  • Simulate high current, low voltage power supplies using LTspice and LTpowerCAD.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including digital design engineers, PCB designers, and firmware developers to integrate ADCs and DACs into complex electronic systems.
  • Prototype and validate designs through thorough testing, debugging, and characterization using lab equipment and simulation tools.
  • Ensure designs meet industry standards and customer specifications.
  • Participate in design reviews, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in ADCs and DACs.
  • Generate and maintain BOMs and assembly drawings to support purchasing and manufacturing.
  • Generate support documents such as user guides, datasheets and test procedures.

  • Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Significant experience (5+ years minimum, 10+ years preferred) in electronic design with a strong focus on ADCs and DACs.
  • Designing and implementation of RF circuits: 1-12GHz required, 12GHz+ desired.
  • Experience with ADC and DAC circuits (up to 12GSPS, including signal conditioning.
  • Design and implementation of ultra-low phase noise clock distribution circuits.
  • Power distribution system design and simulation.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools for circuit design and simulation (e.g., Orcad, LTSPICE).
  • Hands-on experience with state-of-the-art lab equipment for testing and debugging of analog and mixed-signal circuits.
  • Deep understanding of analog and mixed-signal circuit design principles, including signal integrity, noise reduction techniques, and layout considerations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Beneficial Skills:

  • Experience with JESD204B and JESD204C high-speed ADCs and DACs.
  • Familiarity with FPGA-based digital signal processing and interface protocols (e.g. SPI, I2C, UART).
  • Signal translation of single-ended to differential, and vice versa, at multi-GHz speeds.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package:
    • Health insurance
    • Dental insurance
    • Vision insurance
    • Retirement plan with employer matching.
    • Paid time off
